Welcome |
With the coronavirus banning transatlantic flights, my instinctive reaction is to stay calm and carry on (I’m of that generation) and based on encouraging advice from several very experienced North American travel trade professionals, my Inside Track will continue to appear each week.
We’ve weathered the storms of the Libyan bombing (1986), Pan Am 103/Lockerbie (1988), the 1990 Gulf War, Foot and Mouth and 9/11 (both in 2001), other random acts of terrorism and the 2007/2008 Financial Crisis. Each one brought significant disruption to our industry. We survived them all and will do so again.

Looking Ahead… |
The guiding sentiment for future editions will be ‘When your clients start thinking of travel again…’ with a focus on the many events and festivals that take place from September onwards – Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, the Goodwood Revival, the RHS Wisley Flower Show, the Cheltenham Literary Festival followed by festively decorated stately homes and Christmas Markets. |

Pavilioned In Splendour |
East Anglia, the eastern corner of England features in few tour operator’s brochures which is disappointing as it is home to many magnificent privately owned stately homes, award winning gardens, stunning cathedrals, ancient country pubs and some very fine hotels. Some say this is the real England which makes this tour worth a much closer look. |
