Welcome |
|
Last week I celebrated my 300th consecutive Inside Track and my 100th Britain Insider column (see my top story). The Wedgwood video is worth a closer look as is my Fly to China tour which is a great idea for a 3-night shop ‘n’ ship trip flying in and out of Manchester. Being just 80 minutes from the Liverpool cruise terminal, a Wedgwood shore excursion is a must!
In late May, the Clovelly Seaweed Festival enhances an On-Location Poldark and Doc Martin tour and the Five Arrows Hotel at the gates of Waddesdon Manor is a great 2-3 night pre or post cruise extension. Finally, check out the new HMS Victory tour in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.

Discover The Wonderful World Of Wedgwood |
|
Olivia Thackstone of the World of Wedgwood talks with James Shillinglaw of Insider Travel Report about this popular attraction just 45 minutes south of Manchester Airport in England. Wedgwood offers regular, detailed factory tours, a great museum of historic and contemporary china, a factory store and, of course, a place for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea served on Wedgwood china. |

Fly to China -The Breakable Kind |
|
I’m hugely impressed by the quality of the experience on offer at the World of Wedgwood (take a look). Use the non-stop Manchester flights for a long weekend that starts with Wedgwood, includes a special visit to Emma Bridgewater, the ceramic’s collections at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery and an utterly absorbing day among the priceless treasures in nearby Chatsworth House. |

It's All About Seaweed |
|
Picturesque Clovelly’s Seaweed Festival (24th May) celebrates seaweed for its immense health and nutritional benefits and it’s the only one of its kind in the UK. Along with street entertainment, demonstrations, arts, crafts and live music talks, several of the quayside kitchens will be serving a surprising variety of dishes while other stalls will be selling a range of seaweed products. |

New HMS Victory Dry Dock Experience |

From April 2020, visitors to HMS Victory at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be given special access to walk under the iconic survivor from the Battle of Trafalgar as part of a brand-new experience. For the first time ever, the dry dock in which she sits, is included on the visitor route and her oldest, rarely seen areas will finally be on display. |
