Last week's Inside Track on Stonehenge, Bath, the Cotswolds and Oxford for families as a pre-London idea seems to have caught many an eye. Developing the idea a bit further for the same audience, this week's focus shifts to the some of the exciting, interactive, living history experiences to be enjoyed at the atmospheric 1066 Battlefield site in Hastings and at the historic castles at Hever, Arundel and Dover
With Europe and the rest of the world filling the hot and crowded streets of London in July and August, there's a lot to be said for spending three or four days in the English countryside, staying in a nice hotel and spending days watching history come alive before your very eyes.
I also wrote an interesting article for last Friday's edition of Travel Research Online. Entitled 'Vikings, Medieval Mystery Plays and a Cockpit-In-Court Masterpiece' and supported by some interesting images, it's worth looking at.
The left hand Read More will take you to some interesting ideas in the southeast of England while the right hand Read More will reveal attractions you may not have yet heard about. |
