As the 2022 enquiry level picks up speed, several really interesting, customised tour requests are heading my way. One of them came from a long time Inside Track reader, Holly Walker, owner of Compass Travel in New London, New Hampshire whose clients are spending three or four nights in London before visiting gardens in Wales.
I opted for North Wales where there's rich mix of superb gardens, 12th century castles, Great Little Trains and some excellent hotels. On the outward journey from London, I added a couple of nights in the North Cotswolds where Hidcote Manor and the award winning Kiftsgate Court will be fragrantly beautiful and on the return to London, a night in Stratford upon Avon where I have another stunning garden up my sleeve!
With some fine tuning still to be done, Holly's client's response put a spring in my step. "We are looking forward to this once in a lifetime trip". Comments like that make me want to go the extra mile for them.
