This week, I'm highlighting how with some creative thinking, several of our finest castles and stately homes can be included in short, two-three-night pre or post cruise extensions and to illustrate my point, I've concentrated on Southampton arrivals and departures. In addition, many of them stage events ranging from the Changing of the Guard, garden and food festivals to opera/music festivals alfresco and the spills and thrills of medieval jousting tournaments. Subject you to your client's dates of travel, I can add value to the tour by including their choice in the programme.
I'm also aware that many of your customers attend church on a regular basis. If the travel dates include a Sunday, Sung Eucharist in cathedrals in Oxford, Guildford and Chichester (see below) will go down a treat as might Morning Worship in a small,14th/15th century parish church with a cup of tea/coffee with the congregation afterwards. Little touches like this have a very big impact on the overall experience. Read my Britain Insider column and let's do things differently. |
