The recent Blenheim Palace Flower Show (end June) and this week's Royal Horticultural Society's Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival (early July) has set me thinking about some fragrant, rose filled itineraries that can be offered as short pre/post cruise extensions or as extended tours starting in the English countryside before finishing in London.
The two floral extravaganzas are both annual events and they are going to appeal to Rose Societies and to garden clubs who because of their own springtime events weren't able to get to the Chelsea Flower Show especially when I work in Rose Week at Pashley Manor, the Rose Celebrations at Borde Hill and Hever Castle In Bloom.
But it's not all about gardens and to help you attract a wider audience, I've included Sudeley Castle the home of Queen Katherine Parr, Hever Castle the trysting place for King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Coughton Court's close association with the 1605 conspiracy of English Roman Catholics to blow up Parliament, King James I, his Queen and eldest son and Chartwell, home of Sir Winston Churchill for over 40 years.
